Job Summary

Madison Mutual is seeking an Actuarial Intern to join our growing company for a 2023 Internship. This is a temporary position not to exceed 29 hours per week. Our goal is to give our interns projects that stimulate creativity and solve real problems, identify trends, and validate existing data, combined with a variety of other responsibilities.

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Mathematics or Actuarial     Science.
  • Strong record of academic achievement with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with programming – SQL, Python, and/or other languages.
  • Preferably, credit for at least one actuarial exam.
  • Excellent mathematical skills such as probability distributions, statistical     regressions, statistical inference, and predictive modeling.
  • Capable and willing to master and apply new skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Work well in a team environment as well as independently.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Intern Objectives: Participate in projects and meetings, build an understanding of the insurance industry, learn about property and casualty pricing and reserving, develop communication and analytical skills, and become more proficient in Excel, SQL, and other technologies
